Ball Colegrave - What's Growing On

The industry votes for its favourite 2015 season varieties

Colour Inspiration: The Ladies Garden

New 2015: Trixi Breakdance

‘Top picks’ at this year’s Summer Showcase leaned heavily towards bold new colour breaks, suggesting the market is trending for 2015 towards rich coloured, innovative new plants.

Favourites included the stunning Osteospermum Serenity™ Blue Eyed Beauty and the award winning Begonia F1 Majestic Sunburst

Gardeners look for colour inspiration

This years 9 inspirational, colour co-ordinated patio gardens created enormous interest for the 2,000 visitors who attended. Each garden, planted entirely with patio containers supplied by leading pot manufacturers, was designed with a particular consumer lifestyle in mind. The gardens were a big hit with visitors, in particular by the home gardeners on our public open evening. The 'take home' colour leaflet detailing all the varieties used in each garden were most popular and will certainly form the basis of some great seasonal colour displays next Summer around the country!

The Trixi® combinations once again proved really popular with visitors. With 29 ready-made fashionable mixtures available all in one plug, colour theming for growers and retailers alike couldn't be any easier. Judging by the reaction of home gardeners.... Trixi® will be a 'must have' product for next years retail sales.

Top Tomatoes for 2015

Visitors were given the opportunity during the Summer Showcase to taste many of our Cherry Tomato varieties to find their own favourite.

Top tasting Tomato this year was won by Sweet Aperitif. The high yielding small fruits of this delicious tomato variety have an exceptional flaour. The high levels of sugar (brix value 10.5) and acidity give a particularly sweet taste with a refreshing tang.
